Intelligencia for SilverLight

Intelligencia for SilverLight is a rich internet application (RIA) designed to provide flexible reporting solutions from SQL Server Analysis Services cubes. The SilverLight Investigator provides genuine ad hoc query capability with functionality that would normally only be found in a fully installed client. The ribbon menu and layout is based on the Microsoft Office FluentTM interface as used in Office 2007 making Intelligencia for SilverLight fit seamlessly into the Microsoft BI stack.

*NEW* - SharePoint integration

We have added a download for SharePoint integration to the download site. This includes:

  • Investigator web part providing access to our SilverLight query builder from within a SharePoint site
  • Filter web part - a lightweight combo-box like control that allows you to pick members from a cube hierarchy
  • Report Viewer web part - a customised SSRS report viewer that works with our filter control.

One of the exciting features we have added to the SharePoint solution is support for multi-way connections. The Report Viewer can act as both a provider and consumer of parameters allowing you to connect several vewers together and click in any one of them to update all.

Final changes include:

  • Support for forms and integratedauthentication.
  • Additional performance enhancements
  • Mutilple selection support in filter control
  • Customisable themes for the grid

06/06/2010: CTP2
Updates based on customer feedback. This will be the last update available before production. The changes include:

  • FIX: Adding a hierarchy to the filter axis and then removing it does not remove the axis label from the filter bar.
  • FIX: Unable to make multiple selections on the filter axis
  • FIX: Remove All Selections is not clearing the selection indicators in the member selection window
  • UI: Selecting one of the chart types does not display a chart as expected. These menu items should be initially disabled.

25/04/2010: CTP edition
We have pushed a number of changes as a CTP edition for general release. These changes include:

  • Intelligencia ATM application available for download.
  • Lightweight combo style filter control for dashboard use
  • User preferences for filters
  • Many minor fixes and performance improvements...

15/01/2010:  Charting
Based on more feedback we have added charting capability to the nvestigator. It had originally been our intention to release ISL without this functionality but the demand for this functionality has been significant. We therefore decided to "bite-the-bullet" and add charting even though it has put our launch date back. Hopefully you will agree that the wait was worthwhile.

11/04/2010:  Self-Service Reporting
Based on feedback from early adopters we have decided to extend the framework to include a fully functional self-service reporting application. This has also been added to the main product page. We have also pushed a number of fixes and minor functionality enhancements which support the self-service app.

14/12/2009: Conditional Formatting
Added 2 styles of conditional formatting similar in concept to the options in Excel. These allow the cells in the grid to be formatted using color gradients and data bars. This formatting is native to ISL and does not require the use of our Intelligencia eXtensions functions for SSAS.

18/11/2009: Calculated Members
First cut add calculated member support using iT-Workplace's MDXL (Spreadsheet formula) engine. This release allows the creation of calculated rows and columns and implements the Excel style calculation bar with point and click formula creation..

26/10/2009: Performance
The Investigator will now bring back data in pages of 250 rows by 50 columns. Paging indicators are displayed at the bottom of the grid area allowing the navigation of the whole query set.

26/10/2009: Fault Tolerance
Logic which allows re-tries on failed web service calls. This reduces the possibility of a failure to display data when internet connections are poor.
